The Meridian 857 is a reference two‑channel power amplifier designed to deliver the best possible hi‑res audio performance from high‑quality passive loudspeakers. Rated at 250W per channel into 8Ω and 500W per channel into 4Ω with both channels driven, it can also be bridged to provide more than 1kW into 8Ω or over 1.5kW into 4Ω from a single chassis. Low‑feedback construction, intrinsically linear circuitry and error‑correction in the output stage give the 857 an exceptionally low noise floor and ultra‑low distortion, preserving clarity, transparency and control even at very high listening levels. With a wide 1Hz–100kHz (‑/+2dB) bandwidth and advanced linear power supply, the 857 is engineered to exploit the full potential of today’s high‑resolution music and cinema soundtracks.
